About the Series
My recent works explore the sublime beauty of the coastal landscape and the color spectrum, exploring dualities of the physical and the transient. Using bursts of primary hues as a launching point, the subsequent layers flow together in gradients, creating compositions that are kaleidoscopic yet anchored by a steady rhythm.
In my South Carolina studio, I cut, rearrange, and fuse together fragments of canvas. This process results in contrasting shapes that defy the traditional confines of a canvas, introducing a subtle tension between the fluidity of pigment and the intricate contours of the cutouts.
